Research Interests

My research area is the field of Human Computer Interaction with a particular emphasis on mixed reality and ubicomp interfaces.

My thesis work focused on mixed realty boundaries. Mixed reality boundaries link the real and physical and my work extended the usability of the mixed reality boundary technology by developing a framework of properties that can be associated with boundaries.

Here is a list of my publications to date.

I have also had the opportunity to collaborate with artists on a number of projects, including with the Blast Theory performance group on the BAFTA nominated event installation Desert Rain, with Derek Richards on a Mixed Reality Performance and with Ken Feingold on the installation Séance Box No.1. The general aim has been to explore how mixed reality technology can be used to support new forms of interactive art.
