Prior to the first APPSEM-II workshop, a specialist workshop on spatial logics will be held at the University of Nottingham on the afternoon of 25th March 2003, organised by Peter O'Hearn,and Philippa Gardner. There is no registration fee for attending, but the number of places is limited by the size of the seminar room.

Please note that this is a DIFFERENT VENUE to the main APPSEM workshop, which will be at the Rutland Square Hotel in the city centre two miles away. The Jubilee Campus was officially opened by the Queen in 1999, and has received numerous awards for its state-of-the-art design and environmental features, including the Building of the Year award from the British Construction Industry in 2000.

The spatial logics workshop sessions will be held in Seminar Room A on the ground floor of the School of Computer Science on the campus. The reception after the workshop will be held in the large atrium outside the seminar room. A map of the Jubilee Campus is available here.

Getting Here

Once in Nottingham, there are a number of options:

By car: The Jubilee Campus is located around two miles west of Nottingham city centre, and is most easily reached from junctions 25 and 26 of the M1; a map giving directions is available here. Upon arrival, use the Wollaton Road entrance to the campus, as the entrance on Triumph Road requires an electronic pass. Tell the security staff at the barrier that you are visiting the School of Computer Science, and they will direct you to a suitable parking space.

By taxi: The Jubilee Campus is around 30 minutes by taxi from East Midlands airport, or 15 minutes from Nottingham city centre.

By bus: The Jubilee Campus is located on one of the major bus routes from Nottingham city centre. The journey takes around 15 minutes, costs 80 pence, and you should not have to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a bus (numbers 28,29,30,31,and 32.) If your hotel is located in the city centre, just ask the reception staff for directions to the nearest bus stops on Upper Parliament Street. Ask the bus driver to let you know when you have arrived at the Jubilee Campus (stops are not announced), otherwise you may end up in the middle of nowhere! Make sure to ask for the Jubilee Campus explicitly, as the University has more than one campus. If you are travelling from the Jubilee Campus to the city, the bus stop is on the opposite side of the Wollaton Road entrance to the campus.
