Biography

I attended Bishop Vesey's Grammar School and studied Computer Science at University of Leicester. I then did my doctoral research at The University of Nottingham and graduated in 2007, and continued my research as a postdoc at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology . I also have worked at Videogames companies in the UK and Japan.

Teaching

I am convener for the modules:

COMP1043-Maths for Computer Scientists 2
COMP3011-Computer Graphics
COMP3015-Development Experience
COMP3016-Industrial Experience

Current Projects

February 2026 I received funding from the UKRI EPSRC Impact Accelerator Account to develop an interactive game. This project is a collaboration with Nottingham-based design studio Hot Knife Digital Media Ltd to create a prototype for an immersive dome-based game, designed for projection onto a hemispherical dome-shaped screen. The project aims to translate cutting-edge research in interactive rendering into a real-world application.

I am co-supervisor on the Enhanced artificial intelligence for retrosynthesis planning project, with a 4 year PhD starting September 2023.

Student Supervision

I work on Computer Graphics. If you want to do your dissertation on any topics related to interactive rendering, then please email me.

I am building a GPU emulator.
Bounding Volume Hierarchy.
Hair modelling and rendering.
Fluid rendering.
Cloth modelling and rendering.
Order Independent Transparency.
