The Midland Graduate School - APPSEM Spring School is taking place 29 March - 2 April 2004 in Nottingham at the Jubilee Campus of Nottingham University. We especially invite participants from UK universities and from sites participating in the APPSEM working group.
We are able to support a limited number of UK students with EPSRC grants, while APPSEM funds can be used to support students from APPSEM affiliated sites.

The courses take place in the Computer Science and IT building on Jubilee campus. If there is only one course scheduled, it takes place in A01 on the ground floor, next to the atrium on the lake side. If there are two courses scheduled, the first one is in A01 and the second one in B53 on the first floor. Coffees will be served in the atrium.
The MGS/APPSEM spring school joint dinner will take place on Tuesday, 30/3/04, 19:00 at Mr Man's restaurant (Chinese and Malaysian cuisine) in Wollaton, Nottingham. The restaurant is within walking distance from Jubilee Campus. The price for the dinner is included in the registration fee.
I have reserved a number of rooms in Southwell Hall on Jubilee campus. The costs are £45 for Bed and Breakfeast, bathroom en suite. You can book the accomodation together with your registration.
What the webpage linked above doesn't tell you is that you can get from the railway station to Jubilee campus by using the number 5 bus, getting off at Derby road close to the Rose and Crown and then walk to Jubilee (5-10 minutes).
Here is an amended map of Jubilee Campus (thank you, James), which shows where Southwell Hall and the School for Computer Science and IT is and the path to the Rose&Crown where we meet on Sunday 7pm is marked.
The coffees served in the coffee breaks are included in the registration fee. Lunches are not included but there is a cantine next to the computer science building. Alternatively see the Local food and drink guide compiled by Jonathan Grattage.
Each participant will get a log in to use the local computer system for email and for doing coursework. You will have to sign a form that you accept Nottingham's regulations for using Computer Systems. You are supposed to use the computers in the A05 lab adjacent to the Atrium running Windows. It will also be possible to connect a laptop to the local Ethernet using DHCP, however, the condition is that the laptop is free of viruses and that the latest updates are installed.
Apart from the accomodation costs there is a small fee of £ 70 to cover local costs including a joint dinner. Fee and accomodation can be paid by cheque and sent to me by post or by money transfer - see the registration form for details.
