Integrating Image Coding and
Indexing for Content-based Image Retrieval
We believe that image coding and image indexing have
many commonalities. Integrating image coding and image indexing may
prove to be a very effective way to managing the ever increasing
image/video data. We have developed several technologies to achieve the
integration of image coding and indexing to facilitate image retrieval,
including, methods based on binary space
partitioning tree, block truncation coding and 2nd generation image
coding.
